My works as part of exhibition “Hybrid overflights” at LNMM izstāžu zāle Arsenāls
Thanks to Irēna Bužinska, I had a chance to exhibit couple of my works at her curated exhibition “Hybrid overflights” at LNMM izstāžu zāle Arsenāls in Riga, Latvia.
Exhibition is a story about possibilities wich photography and photo camera can offer to an artist.
I had an honor to be exhibited with such Latvian great artists as
Janis Rozentāls and Maija Tabaka, whom I had admired since childhood and had never even dreamed of being exhibited at the same place.
I am not sure who I am …
I might be an artist or an illustrator … ?
I might as well be a craftswoman,
But I know for sure what I do:
I collect curious things and materials, some times I draw, but mostly I make creatures. They are the ones which comes out of childhood dreams, maybe threatens but at the same time charms with the odd ugliness. And most of all I like photography; it is like looking at the world with different pair of eyes then my own. Camera can see the object in different light, draw attention to something and create illusions.
